Sketchbooks have been an important part of my methodology for about the last ten years.
I have a mixed-media approach using a combination of found material,
text from books and song lyrics, juxtaposed with images, diagrams and photographs.
Although originally used as a way of simply recording ideas, they have often developed
to become pieces in themselves.
I find them an incredibly useful way of generating and developing concepts and projects.
They also serve as a kind of abstracted diary with several traceable,
although sometimes deliberately obscure, narratives.
